Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, creative, and people focused Assistant Manager, Learning and Development to support learning strategy, employee capability development, training delivery, LMS management, and digital learning initiatives within the tourism industry.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering learning programmes, managing learning platforms, supporting training needs identification, developing engaging learning content, and working closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, and external learning partners to strengthen employee capability and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy and Programme Execution
- Partner with senior HR and Learning and Development leaders to support and execute the organization's learning strategy.
- Identify training needs and development opportunities in collaboration with business and functional leaders.
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of learning initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Develop structured learning pathways that support employee growth and capability development.
- Ensure learning initiatives are practical, engaging, and relevant to business needs.
Learning Management System and Digital Learning
- Manage and continuously enhance the Learning Management System.
- Handle LMS user administration, course creation, content uploads, reporting, and analytics.
- Ensure learning content is properly organized, updated, and accessible to employees.
- Support digital learning platforms and online learning experiences.
- Track LMS usage, learner engagement, and completion status to support reporting and improvement.
Learning Content and Course Development
- Design, develop, and curate learning content and structured learning courses.
- Create e learning modules, blended learning programmes, facilitator guides, presentations, and participant resources.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop accurate and engaging learning materials.
- Ensure all learning content is clear, practical, and aligned with the organization's standards.
- Stay updated with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in digital learning and capability development.
Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Deliver training programmes, workshops, and learning interventions when business needs arise.
- Facilitate sessions confidently for different employee groups and audiences.
- Promote active learner participation and ensure training sessions are engaging and outcome focused.
- Support internal trainers, leaders, and business teams with learning materials and guidance.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Learning and Development, preferably in a corporate, tourism, hospitality, travel, or multi business environment.
- Strong capability in learning content creation, instructional design, and course development.
- Hands on experience managing an LMS and digital learning platforms.
- Confidence in facilitating and delivering training programmes across different audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with business leaders, functional teams, subject matter experts, and external vendors.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging learning experiences.
- Strong analytical ability to track learning outcomes and recommend improvements.
