Assistant Accountant

Join our dynamic finance team as an Assistant Accountant and play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily accounting operations. We are looking for a meticulous and proactive individual to contribute to our continued success in the Food, Hospitality & Tourism sector.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
• Support audit preparations and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Manage petty cash and process payments efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lanka (part-qualified will be an advantage).
• 1-2 years of proven experience in an accounting role.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices (SLFRS/IFRS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Additional Advantages

• Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP Business One.
• Previous experience in the Food, Hospitality & Tourism industry and in seafood industry is preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
