Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with apparel manufacturers, buying offices, sourcing teams, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Generate new business opportunities and expand the company's customer portfolio.
  • Visit prospective and existing clients to understand fabric requirements and business needs.
  • Promote fabric collections, developments, and product capabilities to potential customers.
  • Provide technical guidance and fabric recommendations based on customer specifications and end-use requirements.
  • Handle customer inquiries, fabric developments, quotations, and negotiations.
  • Work closely with production, merchandising, and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately communicated and executed.
  • Monitor inquiry status, order progress, sample developments, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain long-term business relationships that contribute to customer retention and business growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, fabric innovations, fashion developments, and competitor activities.
  • Gather market intelligence and identify emerging opportunities within the apparel and textile sector.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, business updates, and market feedback for management.
  • Meet assigned sales targets and contribute towards revenue growth objectives.
  • Represent the organization professionally during client visits, meetings, presentations, and industry engagements.


Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Fabric Merchandising, Fabric Sales, Business Development, or a related role within the textile and apparel industry.
  • Assistant Manager-level profiles and above will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, fabric constructions, finishes, and apparel manufacturing processes.
  • Sound understanding of the garment manufacturing industry and supply chain.
  • Experience working with apparel exporters, buying offices, sourcing offices, or international customers will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong business development and customer relationship management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and convert opportunities into business partnerships.
  • Strong commercial awareness and market understanding within the textile sector.
  • Ability to work independently while managing customer relationships and sales activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, relationship-building activities, and business development purposes.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
